Vehicle Description We are very pleased to offer this 1971 Plymouth Road Runner.
It was born as a 383 4bbl, 4-speed, non power steering, non power brakes, no AC, bench seat.
The current engine is a 383 4bbl from a 69 Plymouth.
Its been gone through and had new rings, bearings, new timing chain, purple shaft cam, and lifters installed.
The heads were freshened up also.
When you pop the hood theres plenty of chrome details to make it shine.
The transmission is a 833 4-speed that also has been freshened up.
It has a new Hayes clutch, pressure plate, and throughout bearing.
The flywheel is also new.
The shifter linkage, brackets, shifter boot, and pistol grip shifter are also brand new.
The driveshaft was checked and balanced with new U joints.
The rear has a freshly rebuilt 8 3/4 3rd member with a sure-grip 3:
55 gears and new wheel bearings.
The brakes have been upgraded to power disc (front) and 11 rear drums on the rear.
Lots of new components installed (wheel cylinders, brake pads and shoes, rubber lines, proportioning valve, and calipers).
The exhaust is a set of long tube headers with a 2 1/2 mandrel bent set of duals with turndowns at the rear.
The mufflers are a 44 series so its not overly loud.
The exterior was painted to the most recognized color Chrysler ever did.
Plum Crazy Purple (or in Plymouth terms In-Violet).
Not only was the color changed, there are subtle customizations.
The marker lights have been shaved for a more modern look and a set of Year One 17 rallye wheels installed with Nitto 555 tires.
Many other new parts- full package of receipts will come with the car.
The bucket seats were added and new upholstery installed on the front and rear.
New dash pad was installed.
The upper door panels are also new.
The rallye gauge cluster is an original with the clock (not working) option.
The stereo may look original but its not.
It an updated version with plugs on the rear for your phone or iPod.
Before the new carpet was installed the entire floor and firewall was covered in a sound barrier to help keep the noise and heat from coming into the cabin.
Pop the trunk and see what a trunk should look like.
Plenty of room for a tent, chairs, and a cooler! Even with the jack and components and an original never used bias ply spare from early 70s.
The undercarriage is done up in a black undercoating except for the new fuel tank and lines.
