Telesforo Julve Classical Guitar 1934-1944 for sale in Savannah, GA
Guitar is from 1934-1944. You'll see on the label the telephone number is 5 digits instead of 6 on the later models. Spruce top, not sure about back and sides. They look a lot like rosewood, not a light wood that has been colored . Action is high at around 5.5/32" on the bass side and 4.5/32" on the trebel side Frets were grinded down and are very low Possible fret board was changed sometime, but hard to tell. Playable, but not really to modern standards See pics for details. Crack on trebel side next to fingerboard extension-Patched by Luthier using hide glue to stabilize. One tentalone came loose at bottom of guitar and some purfling is missing in that area as well as a small chip from the side in the same area( see pics) Finish is old and dry, especially on top, some spots. top scratches easily. One small area has been attacked by a tiny worm( see pics) Other than next to the fingerboard, the top is crack free. Decent amount of strumming wear next to soundhole( see pics) Sides mostly in tact, except tiny chip notes above. They have a wavy appearance, for being 100 years old, but no cracks Rosette split some where the crack is next to the fingerboard, stabilized with patch No room on saddle to lower action Some chipping on the bridge edges where the saddle sits. Case looks to be original or just vintage. Rubber trim has come loose over the years. I believe this would be a phenomenal guitar if the spot where the soundboard lifted on bottom edge is glued down and the fingerboard planed to correct action and re-fretted Tuning machines are new, not original I am moving in a week or two and will take this ad down by the 23 rd of August and keep it. Ask all questions before buying and please check out the pics for condition. Hard to value these, so I will consider all offers. All sales final, no returns. Here is a video I just took on a pixel 6a so you can get a sense of tone. https://youtu.be/VI6gSHaJr5E
