Vehicle Description Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1937 Ford Model 78 Sedan.
This '37 has been under the same ownership since the 1970s when the current owner drove it from Virginia down to Georgia.
His first car was a 1937 Ford and he was so fond of it that he wanted one again - he has kept this one for nearly 50 years.
This example is finished in correct Washington Blue over tan cloth interior.
It is powered by the optional 85 horsepower, 221 cubic inch flathead V8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission.
It was treated to a body-off, bare metal repaint in the late 1990s when it also had an engine rebuild and new clutch.
It has been garage kept since and driven regularly - the restoration is holding up well with nice paint quality and a straight, rust-free body.
The V8 starts easily and is silky smooth; it's almost silent at idle.
This Ford is all stock except for the addition of a second tail light and a period-correct heater.
The trunk houses a spare tire, jack and tools; the original owner's handbook is in the glovebox.
While it certainly doesn't drive like a modern car, we were surprised at how much more refined it is than a Model A which was in production only a few years earlier.
The styling was pretty futuristic for the time with flowing lines and headlights integrated nicely in the fenders.
This is a unique car with great ownership history that can be reliably driven to your local show.
