Completions Engineering Quality Group Head responsibilities involve overseeing the monitoring and reviewing of all Completions Engineering designs to ensure internal and external quality expectations are met. Primary means of ensuring quality is achieved by workflow review of both CATIA and CHS designs on aircraft interiors (Furniture, Panels, Seats, and Systems). Secondary means of ensuring quality is achieve with monitoring of quality of the overall configuration of the aircraft with clash analysis and wiring diagram reviews.Group Head responsibilities are to lead and oversee Completions Engineering Quality efforts to include: Design Check Review, and design/drafting standards compliance Appropriate document structure/type Engineering Bill of Material Integrity Document alignment to aircraft requirements Form, Fit & Function Reviews Alignment of development phases of dependent designs Coordination between mechanical and electrical designs Design Standards development and refinementPreferred Key Skills to include: Experience with Part 25 aircraft requirements and some familiarity with Part 135 requirements. Engineering evaluation of drawings/models using CATIA V5 and SmarTeam Will require interface with design, liaison, stress, certification, PLM, and aircraft operations crews on engineering issues. Understanding of overall lifecycle of completions engineering for custom aircraft Engineering Group Head to meet the program/project schedules Working knowledge of industry best practices for quality and aircraft development

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. 10 years Engineering experience. 5 years specific technical discipline. Experience credit considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 yrs with Masters, 4 yrs with PhD in fields applicable to this job. 2 years supervisory or broad managerial responsibility.
Position Purpose:
Supervises a group of engineering employees within a similar discipline responsible for task and objective assignments. Utilizing diversified knowledge and engineering experience, provides direction to subordinate employees, administers performance standards, schedules and budgets.
Principle Duties and
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Develops and evaluates plans for projects and activities; assesses technical feasibility and soundness of proposed analysis, tests, or concepts being applied. 2. Provides direct supervision of employees of similar expertise for a large project or a number of small projects. 3. Communicates performance expectations, salary administration, and conducts performance appraisals. 4. Responsible for establishing and executing objectives that support short term goals. 5. Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods; represents the organization to resolve important issues and to plan and coordinate work. 6. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings concerning specific projects. 7. Acts as an advisor to subordinate leads or staff members. 8. Actively participates in daily operations as required. to meet schedules and resolve issues.
Additional Functions: 1. May recommend modifications to operating policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements: 1. The level of managerial skills and abilities appropriate for this grade may be established by each discipline. 2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to gain the cooperation of others.
