Unique Skills:
Requirements 11 years of experience in the development and certification of Avionics and/or Data Concentration Network (DCN) Platforms, including software development, conceptual design, detailed design, and FAA/EASA part 25 certification Broad experience and knowledge of aircraft systems and their functional and physical integration with other aircraft systems Subject Matter Expertise of communication protocols utilized in integrated systems, including but not limited to ARINC 664, ARINC 429 and ARINC 825 Subject Matter Expertise in cyber security for aerospace applications, including demonstrated experience in complying to DO-326/DO-356 Past or current participation in industry working groups for Avionics and/or Cyber SecurityPreferred Experience with ARP 4754A, ARP 4761, DO-178C, and DO-254A Software AR or DER with Design Assurance Level A approval authority Demonstrated history of technical innovation within the aerospace market, such as development of new and novel technologies and/or patent awards Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and oversight of current and future Software Certification, Model Based Development and Cyber Security for all Gulfstream aircraft models Champion new development processes and tools, including but not limited to Model Based Design, Cyber Security, and Software Certification Provide mentorship to Electrical Systems Engineers to increase overall competency in Software Certification, Model Based Development and Cyber Security Represent Gulfstream as the Subject Matter Expert to certification authorities and industry working groups for Software Certification, Model Based Development and Cyber Security
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of appropriate education/experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Advanced degree in eng, or related curriculum preferred. 15
years specific technical discipline with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs PhD in fields applicable to job.
Position Purpose:
Applies specialized engineering knowledge to broad and complex engineering problems; Works on engineering projects containing significant and uniquely challenging problems requiring highly innovative solutions.
Principle Duties and
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Responsible for an engineering project; successful completion requires the use of innovative technical advances, methods and processes 2. Applies solutions that are highly innovative and sets new precedence for engineering function and industry 3. Introduces and champions new technologies for Gulfstream aircraft and company processes 4. Actively promotes R&D initiatives that will meet or further Gulfstream objectives 5. Acts independently to conduct technical research, develop new methods and/or procedures to complete complex assignments 6. Is consulted extensively by associates and others with a high degree of reliance placed on the incumbent scientific interpretations and advice. Perform other duties as assigned.
