SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST - TITLE 5

As a Supervisory Security Specialist, GS-0080-12, you will:
Plan, organize, and direct all Special Access security activities of the Advanced Program Security Office, ensuring that Information, Personnel, Physical, Industrial, and Automated Information System functional work areas comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and wing, Air Force, and national objectives. Research, interpret, analyze and apply National, DoD, Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID), USAF, and MAJCOM policies classifying and protecting special access program systems, national defense, and other sensitive information originated or controlled by the wing and associated personnel. Establish policy and procedure for accomplishment of SAP information, personnel, physical, industrial, and automated information system security. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements. Develop, modify, and/or interpret performance standards. Explain performance expectations to employees and provide regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Hold employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Appraise subordinate workers performance ensuring consistency and equity in rating techniques. Recommend awards when appropriate and approve within-grade increases. Hear and resolve employee complaints and refer serious unresolved complaints to higher level management. Represent Wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with DOD, AF,SAF/AQ, MAJCOM, Wings, Groups, Squadron and civilian contract agencies. Meet with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise. Provide or ensure that subordinate provide customer guidance and training. Participate in special projects and initiatives and perform special assignments. Identify the need for special projects and initiate milestones and goals. Evaluate reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepare detailed responses. Determine appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and perform follow-up. Research and determine or recommend appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact organization, installation, command, or agency. Manage the Special Access Industrial Security Program for the Installation as needed. Review solicitation and contract documents to ensure they include the appropriate security clauses and language. May review DD Forms 254, Contract Security Classification Specifications, for technical accuracy and sufficiency of classification guidance prior to approval. May conduct initial facility security clearance surveys of contractor facilities to determine their ability to work with and store classified and sensitive information, including information generated or stored in Automated Information Systems (AIS); provide for proper personnel security administration, such as proper visitor controls; and physical security provisions and safeguards. Assist contractor personnel in the development of security procedures. Conduct periodic security inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with the National policy and DoD and Higher HQ directives, installation security programs, and assist cognizant security offices (CSO) as necessary. Conduct interviews with contractor management to determine the organizational structure to include key officials; assure clearance levels for officials are commensurate with information handled; and assess the facilities' physical acceptability for possession of classified and/or sensitive information. Assist and oversee the implementation and administration of the automated information systems (AIS) security program as needed. Ensure DOD, DCID, USAF,and ACC policies and directives for the classification, protection, and configuration of all advanced programs AIS and networks are implemented. Interpret, formulate,and develop AIS security operating procedures to protect national security information. Perform other duties as assigned. Time-In-Grade Requirement:
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note:

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
serving as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over non-supervisory employees assigned to a National level Special Access Program (SAP) while integrating special access program security requirements that support military, civilian, and contractors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
