#### Primary Responsibilities
This highly visible position requires a dynamic individual who will be responsible for providing best in class service to clients by successfully managing and promoting a petrochemical testing laboratory. Fully responsible for the management and supervision of a large laboratory which is responsible for testing and conducting the analysis and reporting of various petrochemical products (crude oil, fuel oils, middle distillates, petroleum, LPG & LNG gases, etc.,) while building successful client relationships in a technical and business development role.

#### Specific responsibilities
Provide 'best in class' service to client by successful management and utilization of staff by:

Overseeing the analysis and reporting of petroleum / petrochemical products both in a refinery / petrochemical laboratory.
Monitoring and reporting laboratory Key Performance Index (KPI's) to customer(s) and SGS management.
Providing assistance to client(s) in explaining Laboratory analysis and technical solutions, to ensure customer satisfaction, when needed.
Ensure that orders from clients, on submitted samples, are being achieved in a timely manner; by ensuring that staff is on target with testing, following up on job progress, reporting results / status to clients, etc.
Review and validate laboratory analysis generated by staff Chemist / Laboratory Technicians.
Collaborate in marketing efforts in order to develop additional business with client by being able to identify emerging shifts in the industry through the review of competitive analysis coupled with the ability to make sound suggestions or recommendations to maintain competitive.
Provide recommendation(s) and proposal(s) to the Regional Laboratory Manager on upgraded laboratory equipment and staff recommendations.
Maintain and understand current laboratory analytical methods, Standard Operating Procedures and advances in technology, in the industry.
Responsible for authenticity for Laboratory Certificates of Analysis.
Responsible for the training and operation of the laboratory equipment in addition to calibration, maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs when required.
Ensure personnel are well versed and properly employ all client Safety and Operational requirements.
Assure compliance with Laboratory Q.A. Manual and Safety Manual.
Ensure that the Quality Control of laboratory solutions and standards, are adhered by SGS standards.
Acts accordingly to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
#### Profile
Bachelor's degree in Science, with emphasis in chemistry or other related field of study or equivalent work history.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility and managing a staff, in an Oil, Gas and Chemical laboratory.
Knowledge of negotiating and managing contractual arrangements with vendors.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups both within the organization or while representing the organization.
Ability to identify emerging shifts in the business environment and access the economic implications through competitive analysis coupled with the ability to make sound suggestions or recommendations to maintain competitive in the market.
Demonstrated ability to interact as a leader in a team-building environment with a wide variety of individuals from diverse disciplines, cultures and experience.
Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and applicable laboratory systems.

Must have a results-oriented and inclusive management style, coupled with the leadership skills necessary to lead by example, empower and motivate reporting staff toward full development of their individual potential within an entrepreneurial and customer service oriented environment.
