The IT Business Analyst serves as an innovative and collaborative business partner with various departments and stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows.
They will translate these requirements into functional specifications for technology teams and work closely with project managers, developers, and testers to ensure successful project delivery.
The Business Analyst will also be involved in identifying areas for process improvement and recommending solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES Analyzing data, creating reports and developing strategies to improve program performance.
Analyzing processes to determine better ways to simplify the user experience and create positive outcomes Perform data validation and implement quality control measures to ensure the continued success of operations Review, audit and summarize operational data Research, design, configure, test, document, and support implementation of system changes.
Manage the impact of these changes and their effects across all business segments and locations.
IT business systems analysts are responsible for analyzing processes and systems to identify problems with current solutions and opportunities for improvement Have experience of demanding data projects such as data integration, reference and master data management, data feeds or data warehousing Change owner for all changes that involve the application, including underlying infrastructure changes to ensure the changes are reviewed, signed-off, and implemented Providing specialist knowledge for their application to all stakeholders Providing input in design and functional specifications Partnering with business liaisons and technical teams to understand and define system goals, issues and technical system requirements Producing deliverables related to the project(s) assigned and assisting in post implementation support Partnering with business liaisons and technical teams to understand and define system goals, issues and technical system requirements Technology Enhancements/Upgrades & Deployment Assists in the review, testing, and implementation of system upgrades, patches, and/or enhancements Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional SMEs, and technical teams to coordinate upgrades, patches, and/or enhancements Participate and facilitate consultation with subject matter experts from the business and other sources to define business requirements.
Create and/or maintain business requirements documents (BRD) Ability to perform testing functions including troubleshooting, root cause analysis and identifying resolutions for certain terminal operating systems.
Ability to review and analyze documentation to determine impacts to current system applications.
Provide end user training and support Identify and analyze new product functionality, trends, and opportunities for their potential to disrupt existing capabilities, digital and transformation strategies Develops vendor system relationships acting as a liaison between the vendor and operations team Process Improvement Collaborates with cross-functional business partners and actively consults functional users to analyze current processes and user goals identifying gaps to drive business process improvement and day-to-day support of the business needs Identify opportunities for automation, application operations efficiency, and security Production Support Ensure technology issues are resolved in a timely manner Diagnose and troubleshoot production issues with a focus on identifying root cause and creative problem-solving.
Coordinate and facilitate consultation with subject matter experts from the business as required Collaborate with technical teams, as required, to triage issues with integrations and automations identifying root cause and solutions Coordinate system changes across multiple cross-functional teams as necessary to apply fixes Writes, maintains, and supports a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools Ability to create, update, and maintain documentation and requirements QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically Ability to present and communicate ideas to all levels of the business and across multiple departments 3-5 years in the ports and terminals industry, supply chain preferred 3-5 years working with systems implementations, project management and end user training Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Power BI Bachelor's or Associates degree in a Business field or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training Familiarity Agile framework principles and facilitate scrum events with a development team such as sprint planning, daily stand ups, sprint reviews, stakeholder demonstrations and retrospectives Experience using work management software such as:
Microsoft Azure DevOps, Jira or equivalent Strong organizational skills, able to manage several initiatives at once Must be resourceful and have creative problem-solving skills Strong Analytical skills required Must be flexible & adaptable Must be detail oriented and able to focus on tasks Physical Requirements:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
