- Represent clients in criminal and proceedings - Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, such as briefs, motions, and appeals - Interview clients and witnesses to gather information for cases - Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors - Advocate for clients' rights and interests in court - Present evidence and arguments in court hearings and trials - Provide legal advice and guidance to clients - Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to build strong cases
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.
D.
) degree from an accredited law school - Admission to the state bar association or ability to waive in with reciprocity - Strong knowledge of criminal law and legal procedures - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Demonstrated commitment to justice and advocacy for the underprivileged - Previous experience in criminal defense is preferred but not required Note:
