This position holds responsibilities for support and implementation of the control systems (e.
g.
, DCS, PLC).
The main responsibility is to deliver and maintain Control Systems that meet Production's requirements, perform functionality and safety obligations, and maximize system capability.
This includes the leadership of the system lifecycle process, maintenance recommendations and oversight of installed base equipment.
This position reports directly to the Technical & Engineering Services Manager.

As a Process Controls Engineer, you create chemistry by Developing and maintaining the plant DCS (Foxboro) and PLC (Allen Bradley) programs to insure efficient plant performance and maintaining critical software safety interlocks for plant equipment in DCS and PLC systems.
Ensuring backups of all controls systems, as well as developing and archiving documentation of said systems.
Creating and maintaining plant production reporting systems (such as downtime, web based, application based, etc.
), maintaining historical data collection systems and EPA required data warehousing and reports.
Managing development of all maintenance, production, and engineering control system programming, as well as the upkeep of plant control network and plant control computers.
Assuring proper design, installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of control equipment and systems according to regulatory and BASF standards.
Providing leadership to the maintenance resources in the relevant controls and E&I functions, supplying technical expertise to operations and maintenance in the controls area and assisting in or executing small projects.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalentYour formula for success Bachelor's degree in a technical field
3 years of industrial experience in a chemical or other similar manufacturing environment OR equivalent experience in said environments.
Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and/or Distributed Control Systems (DCS), automation, and instrumentation Strong technical skills to help troubleshoot problems in the different manufacturing areas You @ BASF At BASF you get more than just compensation, Medical & Dental.
