Our 65-acre campus holds more than 30 buildings and six sports fields, with a 20-person Operations Department which oversees Maintenance, Grounds, Safety, Transportation, and Housekeeping.
POSITION- Operations Foreman We are hiring a Foreman to join the Operations Department.
We are looking for a true leader/team player who understands that every staff member plays a vital role in our success.
The Operations Foreman is key in overseeing the daily facility and sport activities across the campus and is accountable for delivering a safe, functional environment for our students and staff.
This is a hands on position - active operations duties are combined with administrative duties and supervision of team members.
Background checks are required and will be paid for by the school.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES o This hybrid role requires both supervision and active operations duties - repairs, inspections, sanitation, etc.
o Supervises a team of maintenance, sports/fields, housekeeping, and security employees (10-16) in the accomplishment of their daily assignments.
Provides problem-solving assistance and direction to team members as needed.
Ensures that the team responds to requests and performs duties as assigned in a timely manner with a professional attitude by monitoring work orders and periodically checking on projects around campus.
Performs minor repairs and fixes, inspects and troubleshoots equipment and systems, collaborates with contractors and other professionals during renovations, provides event set-up and break-down support.
Reports any maintenance concerns to the Operations Director.
Enforces safety guidelines at all times, maintains and safeguards company tools and equipment.
Works in tandem with the Director and Assistant Director of Operations to plan for upcoming projects and events.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
SKILLS General handyman / maintenance skills (minor repairs, replacing of lightbulbs and filters, etc.
) General knowledge of and experience using a variety of hand tools, equipment, and vehicles (gas and electric blowers, golf carts, activity buses, etc.
).
Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with technology including email and text messaging.
QUALIFICATIONS o College graduate or high school diploma.
Valid driver's license.
1-3 years' experience is preferred.
Must have a positive attitude and the flexibility to shift priorities as needed.
Detail-oriented with an aptitude for problem-solving and team work.
Good physical condition and strength as typical work days cover the whole campus, requiring the ability to walk distances, lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, work on ladders, and withstand outdoor temperatures.
Repetitive motion is required on a daily basis and may include:
pushing, pulling, reaching, squatting, and lifting.
Willing to work some OT on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
