Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related curriculum; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Six (6) years related data processing experience or other business or technical experience to include three (3) years experience with micro or mini computers, with a conceptual knowledge of information center techniques required.
Position Purpose:
Designs and develops systems/programs/macros to track Engineering data and facilitate development of performance measurement charts and reports. Serves as a primary resource in introducing and implementing new technology by utilizing knowledge of application systems analysis and programming. Serves as a primary interface with Information Technology for systems requirements (hardware, software) and problem resolutions.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Provides technical leadership for Engineering data and process analysis and assists in the training of new employees. 2. Plans and manages tasks or activities to meet established deadlines. 3. Actively participates in data management process and documentation. 4. Develops, executes and performs functional test plans as required for developmental/programming areas and end user processes. 5. Performs design evaluations and provides adhoc reporting for management awareness. 6. Validates accuracy of measurement reports, charts and graphs prior to publication. 7. Facilitates the generation of measurement charts and other required reports from various data sources. 8. Provides analysis/discussion with engineering cross functional teams. 9. Maintains a current knowledge of process tools and innovation within this field.
Additional Functions: 1. Develops performance metrics reporting for Management. 2. Develops system/application user training requirements and documentation. 3. Participates in system/application implementation projects. 4. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements: 1. Highly experienced with PC based software such as Excel, Project, Access, Word and Power Point. 2. Knowledge of programming with Visual Basic in Access and Excel highly desirable. 3. Knowledge of Perl/ASP, HTML and SQL a plus. 4. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 5. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 6. Proven track record of working within a team oriented environment. Must possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
