At Port Wentworth, our Maintenance Professionals work in a Safety First environment supported by a high performance work system. Our professionals have at least a high school diploma or G.E.D. plus a two-year technical training program, registered apprenticeship, military technical training or equivalent work experience in at least one of the following crafts:
Electrician
Industrial Lift Truck/Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Welder
Machinist
Millwright
Instrumentation
Pipefitter
Boiler Maker
Successful applicants must also have 5 years of work experience in manufacturing, construction or military service, demonstrated drive and initiative to advance within an organization, strong problem solving skills and good interpersonal skills. Must be able to work safely in a work environment that includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, and willing to work a rotating shift work schedule (if required) as well as possess the mechanical, numerical and verbal aptitude to learn jobs quickly.

REQUIREMENTS:
Successful candidates will have five or more years of experience as a tradesperson in an industrial environment, with experience in Pulp or Paper being considered a significant asset.
We require demonstrated experience with maintenance type repairs & troubleshooting of equipment such as pumps, conveyors, agitators & mechanical drives. Experience with pipefitting, welding, rigging, equipment alignment, hydraulics and a background working within preventive maintenance systems and improving machine reliability is also desired. Candidates with formal technical training will be given preference.
Also required is Gold on the Georgia Work Keys testing.
